This ongoing calculator project is being designed to give you an idea of what more of your parameters are. Use it as you like. Whether or not these parameters are relevant is strictly up to you. Of course there are many more parameters to consider when building a 4x4 like weight, horse power, and others.

The tire "STATIC LOADED RADIUS" (S.L.R.) input box" calculates tire diameter from the S.L.R. input. This section of the calculator may or may not be relevant information, again that is up to you. I will include other input data boxes as I write the Java Script. Enjoy !!

Enter your " Static Loaded Radius" in the appropriate boxes below. To get static loaded radius you should park on a level, flat surface. Measure your tire from the center of the hub or axle to the ground. Your S.L.R. or static loaded radius will change with different tire pressures. The diameter box will show you what your actual diameter is at whatever tire air pressure you have chosen. Changing air pressure, which changes static loaded radius, changes the way your multiplied torque value is applied to the ground and will affect performance on or off road. I will make the "static loaded radius" input more dynamic and usable in the future .

GEAR RATIO CALCULATOR.

The input boxes below will calculate a gear ratio correction. This may be needed as result of adding a larger or smaller tire with a larger or smaller S.L.R.  (STATIC LOADED RADIUS). The "CORRECT TIRE DIAMETER" boxes are output boxes only. Do not type there.
** Required to achieve tire effective diameter and gear correction. |
STEP #1 **ENTER YOUR STARTING GEAR RATIO                     ---------------->   -1 (example: 4.56)

STEP #2 ** ENTER YOUR ORIGINAL TIRE STATIC LOADED RADIUS -------->      (example: 12.5 inches) MEASURE FROM THE CENTER OF YOUR AXLE TO THE GROUND.

CORRECT TIRE DIAMETER

STEP #3 **  ENTER YOUR NEW TIRE STATIC LOADED RADIUS  ------------>        (example: 13.5 inches) MEASURE FROM THE CENTER OF YOUR AXLE TO THE GROUND.

CORRECT TIRE DIAMETER

STEP #4 **

A GEAR RATIO OF-1 OR THE CLOSEST RATIO AVAILABLE CAN BE USED TO HELP RESTORE YOUR ORIGINAL VALUE.
