Dura-Spark II ignition Upgrade

Here is an affordable way to make your old Dura-Spark II ignition into a fire breathing unit with "stock" Ford or high performance MSD parts. There are three different levels of upgrade available. Credit for information gathering goes to Aaron (Team Rush).

You can use either MSD ignition parts or stock replacement parts available from any auto parts store. For those who already have the Dura-Spark distributor, no modifications are needed other than mounting the new T.F.I. coil and splicing in a connector for the new coil. Your existing Dura-Spark electronic distributor is used for this upgrade. The cap, rotor, and large cap base (adapter) fit right on your old Dura-Spark distributor. Wallah! Ford H.E.I !!!!!!

If you don't currently have a stock Dura-Spark ignition system, you will need to locate the proper distributor and module to complete the project. Mid to late 70's and early 80's Wagoneer is a good donor vehicle. Or you can buy everything from your local NAPA parts dealer.

Good luck!

Here are a couple of pictures of my upgrade. The engine is an AMC 360 with Howell fuel injection kit.
