MY JEEP'S HISTORY

My jeep is a 1979 CJ5 Renegade model and was factory equipped with a 304 V8, model 30 front end, and AMC model 20 rear with Traklok. I bought my jeep in 1989 from a college student who needed money for school. He was heart broken when I bought the jeep and had his mother take the money from me because it was to hard. I felt bad for him.

I have always wanted a jeep from the first time I saw one. I've had my jeep now for about 12 years and can't imagine being with out it. I bought the jeep in very tired condition for 3700.00 with a 258 six cylinder in place of the 304 V8 that the jeep had from the factory. Someone swapped it out for whatever reason. The guy that I bought the jeep from had no idea of its past only that it came from California. I found a jeep in the paper that had been rolled and was being parted out. This is where the current 304 V8 engine came from. The 304 motor has now been replaced by a rebuilt 360 from a donor J10 pickup.

The Jeep has under gone many extensive modifications and the goal of making a very capable multi purpose vehicle is still on going. Visit my projects site to see the progress.
