Intro: This Rubicon trail trip was a quickie. My sister and her crew once again made the trek to one of the best trails in the world.

I didn't camp the first night at loon like I usually do since I had just gotten back from a long road trip. The Loon Lake camp spot where my sister and her crew stayed was visited by bears during the night. The bears got some beef steaks and that was it.

Day one:

Mostly uneventful except for 2 different Holley injection system failures and one fuel pump that fell off in the tank of the full size Ford.

Day two:

From Bucks Island Lake to The Big Sluice to Rubicon Springs, we made our way much without incident. The full size Ford collapsed a drag link in the middle of the big sluice which we had to hammer out before he could move. One of the broncos plugged an injector, a fuel filter, and burned up a fuel pump in the middle of Cadillac hill.

My carnage was limited to a smashed gas can and cargo rack. Other than that the jeep performed flawlessly as usual.

One final thought!
With the recent spider lake area closure due to contamination and the general "new order" of the con, the attitudes of the wheelers we met are starting to change for the better.

We must maintain and police this trail with every trip. We cannot let a few rouge wheelers and careless users get this trail closed for all of us. Report all abuse of the trail and take pictures of license plates, vehicles, and owners if possible and safe.

Pics (more to come)
